MAC3761 | Application of Management Accounting Techniques
We cover the full syllabus for MAC3761 (the year-long module combining MAC3701 and MAC3702) with video lectures, explaining everything you need to know about MAC3761. We explain the principles in easy-to-understand language, so you’ll be able to apply them to any situation.
Apart from a few new topics, the principles covered in MAC3761 are similar to what you’ve already done in second year Management Accounting (MAC2601) and Financial Management (MAC2602), just at a more advanced level. Before each topic is briefly recapped, you get the opportunity to test your own understanding. If you are not comfortable with the basics, you can watch the revision lectures, or you can skip ahead to the new work. Since students usually struggle with ManAcc due to not understanding the basics, we start the third year work by explaining the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of each topic.
Our lectures focus on really understanding what problems the principles try to address and why they are important, before showing you how to apply them with illustrative examples. Even though many students find Management Accounting and Financial Management intimidating, we believe anyone can pass them, and who knows, maybe even enjoy them!

TAX3761 | Taxation of Business Activities and Individuals
We cover the full syllabus for TAX3761 (the year-long module combining TAX3701 and TAX3702) with video lectures, explaining everything you need to know about TAX3761. We explain the syllabus simply, so you’ll be able to apply it to any situation.
TAX3761 will be your second year of exposure to Tax. The volume is slightly greater than TAX2601 and, at first glance, there seems to be some duplication of a lot of the TAX2601 content. This is simply because the topics are now integrated with the new topics – for example, capital allowances (covered in TAX2601) are now integrated with value-added tax (a new topic).
A lot of students study Tax very theoretically and spend a lot of time memorising it, but it’s actually one of the most practical of your subjects - calculating and submitting tax returns for yourself and others is a highly sought-after skill, and very practical in nature!
Our lectures are great at explaining why each of these sections exists, and how to work with them. Yes, there are a lot of Tax Act sections you need to know, but if you understand what they’re intended to achieve, it makes your studying a lot easier.

AUE3761 | Audit Planning, Tests of Control, Substantive Procedures & Finalising an Audit
We cover the full syllabus for AUE3761 (the year-long module combining AUE3701 and AUE3702) with video lectures, explaining everything you need to know about AUE3761. We explain the syllabus simply, so you’ll be able to apply it to any situation.
The AUE3761 course basically covers the full audit process. We go back to the same principles of the audit process that you studied in AUE2601, and then go into extra detail and teach you how to analyse more complex situations, so you will be able to apply the principles you have already learned to case studies.
There is a big section on evidence. It’s one topic, but it’s a BIG one, with lots of sub-sections. It teaches you what you can and can’t use as ‘proof’ for your audit opinion, and how to obtain it. There are quite a few ISA (International Standards of Auditing) chapters in there, so students tend to memorise these, but we spend some time explaining them so that you understand them and can easily work with them in questions.
After you’ve gathered your evidence, you need to go through it all and assess whether you have enough (evaluation of evidence) and make a conclusion about what this evidence tells you about the financial statements (i.e. your audit opinion).
TOPICS
Pre-engagement activities
Risk and audit planning
Obtaining audit evidence
Internal control and the business cycles
Tests of control (manual and computerised)
Your knowledge of controls (general, application and cycles) are assumed knowledge from second year. We’ve added these topics into Audit 3X for you as well, in case you need revision or a better understanding
Substantive procedures: our 'party trick'
The international standards on auditing relating to evidence (The 500 and 600 series)
Formulating substantive procedures (including CAATs)
Analytical procedures
Auditing the cycles (All the business cycles)
Evaluating misstatements
Concluding on audit evidence (including related parties, subsequent events and going concern
